Summer Anime 2023 preview
This one is a bit late, since summer anime season is in full swing, but I want to list things I intend to try and then do a followup post after the season is over. I wonder if anilist will exist 10 years from now, but here is preliminary link:
Things I am hyped for
Jujutsu Kaisen S2
I loved season 1 of this supernatural fighter anime because of it's rather original abilities and frankly quite dark graphic scenes at times. You can watch it on crunchyroll.
Bleach S2
Second season of final arc of bleach after a decade long hiatus. I personally felt the manga fall apart a bit at the end and I wonder if the anime adaptation can redeem it. I would honestly go for more Bleach if given the option. What has Tite Kubo made since? It's on Hulu.
Things I am curious about
- SYNDUALITY Noir - new mecha anime, might be awful
- Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou - a movie by studio Kappa Honestly, two shows a season is quite a little compared to the 12 I used to do, but that's mostly due to me hitting 30 years old soon. I don't actually thing anime is significantly worse than before, but I would agree it's been stagnating for the past decade with trends coming and going.
Additionally, Hayao Miyazaki's last last last last movie came out, so I'm expecting to see it this fall/winter
